Mark and Tammy Smith are passionate about giving back to those that served in the military and their families. They both come from military families and Mark also served as a corpsman with the Marine Corps. They personally understand the many sacrifices and challenges military members and their families face on a daily basis and decided to give back to those who have given so much to us every day. They teamed up with an amazing organization called Team Rubicon, an incredible organization that serves our Veterans and the community. Read more about Team Rubicon below.

Veterans donʼt get enough recognition for the sacrifices they and their families have made, giving all Americans the greatest gift of all… FREEDOMMark and Tammy Smith wanted to show their appreciation this 2016 Veterans Day Weekend in a BIG way! So weʼd like to thank and honor you.

We asked everyone to provide a picture of a Veteran they’d like to recognize, including their name and why they chose to recognize them using the hashtag #ServiceSelfie! For every #ServiceSelfie, Mark will enter the Veterans’ names into a drawing the week of November 14th. The more #ServiceSelfies, the more chances to win!

Stay tuned… This week, Mark will draw one name and donate to Team Rubicon in honor of the selected Veteran. Each and every story submitted is featured below!

ABOUT TEAM RUBICON

Team Rubicon‘s primary mission is providing disaster relief to those affected by natural disasters, be them domestic or international. By pairing the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders, medical professionals, and technology solutions, Team Rubicon aims to provide the greatest service and impact possible. Through continued service, Team Rubicon seeks to provide our veterans with three things they lose after leaving the military: a purpose, gained through disaster relief; community, built by serving with others; and self-worth, from recognizing the impact one individual can make. Coupled with leadership development and other opportunities, Team Rubicon looks to help veterans transition from military to civilian life. Click here to learn more about Team Rubicon.
